I am not a huge fan of modern architecture but living in a mountain town that prefers overbuilt log homes to sophisticated style it was refreshing to see that a local architecture firm (
Gilday Architects formerly
Tobler Dunker Architects) was able to combine western sensibility, warmth and modern style to create this beautiful private residence (and thankfully without
lodge pole pine):
I love the combination of glass and stone-it really grounds the house while also allowing bright open spaces. The landscaping perfectly mirrors the balance of this concept.
I love the white marble and the inviting fireplace.
Talk about a kitchen made for entertaining (3 ovens!). Again, I love the use of white marble especially against the stainless steel appliances.
